Small batch pottery made in Baltimore Maryland.
Handcrafted.
Each piece of Pinkiss Pottery is lovingly crafted from raw clay to a functional work of art by Shawna Pincus. Shawna spends a great deal of time dreaming up new forms to use while working in her kitchen or garden. Each pot is lovingly crafted by hand from rich clay that is stretched into slabs, impressed with textures and molded into soft, functional forms. Shawna makes everything in her small basement studio and fires them in her single kiln. Because of this, each batch of pottery is made in small batches and therefore the designs are limited in quantity.
“This world is but a canvas to our imagination.”
Henry David Thoureau
Each piece of pottery is decorated with hand drawn illustrations celebrating the little moments or objects which bring us joy in our daily lives. The drawings are screen printed onto the clay using Shawna’s unique process of transfer printing. The drawings are further painted using ceramic pigments to create a watercolor like effect. Since the illustration is done with ceramic materials and is glaze fired to over 2100 degrees F, the images will not fade or wash away with use.
My Mission
Pinkkiss Pottery brings a unique work of art into your daily life. My work is meant to be handled, used, loved and cherished.
Since my work is made in small batches things can sell out quickly. If you would like to be informed when I add new work to the site please sign up for my email list. I promise not to spam your inbox! I tend to send one email a month. Thank you!
Thank You!
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart for supporting my art! I truly love what I do and am so grateful that I get to do it every day. Every purchase, share and high five keep me inspired. I couldn’t do this without you all.
